Hmm.  What does...
    $ grep "Native" config.log
...report at the top-level of your source-tree?

Also, what's the full compilation line, there?

So you have both 1.12.3 and 1.13.3 installed?  Or the 1.12.3 library and
the 1.13.3 library + devel package?

What's the output of...

    $ grep "^GSF_" config.log

...in the top-level of your source tree?

In the compilation output, just before the errors you posted before.  In
fact, you posted *part* of it originally....

   gnc-html-graph-gog.lo -MD -MP -M F .deps/gnc-html-graph-gog.Tpo -c

Hmmm.  Why aren't these matched?  If you have libgsf-1.12.3, then
shouldn't you have the libgsf-1.12.3 devel package, too, right?  Do you
know any particular reason why all three aren't in sync?

I think that's causing the following.

Okay, so that's what's causing the error below.  These variables
represent the args that need to be added to the compilation (CFLAGS) and
link (LIBS) to correctly compile code that references that module.  As
they're both blank, the code doesn't get the right -I[nclude] directory
added, and fails as below.

So, the question is: why are these blank?

What's the output of...

   $ pkg-config --list-all |grep "gsf"
   $ pkg-config --cflags libgsf-1
   $ pkg-config --libs libgsf-1

...?

I guess that this is a problem in the Ubuntu development version...
Below is the text from the package descriptions..

libgsf-1: (Version 1.12.3)
Structured File Library - runtime version
This is the basic runtime version of libgsf. It does not provide
GNOME-specific extensions.

I tryed to remove this package, and synaptics did. There where no
packages that deps on it.

Hmm.  I'd imagine that gnumeric depends on it, at least... but I'm

[By way of clarification, I didn't mean that the library itself was a
problem, so much as a version mismatch between the library and the
supporting devel package might be.]

Hmm.  Those values are what I'd expect to see.  Moreover, those strings
should be the values of GSF_{CFLAGS,LIBS} repsectively.

If you re- ./configure, does `grep "^GSF_" config.log` still return
empty strings?  Also, what does `grep "Native" config.log` report re:
libgsf?

Since I removed it, i did update from svn (totaly clean /deleted the old
files, and rerun autogen & configure)
It doesn't complain about anything until i run make (as far as i can see)

BTW: why does it take so long before my mails enters the list...
sometimes your replyes enters my inbox 10 - 15 minutes before i got my
own mail.. and it takes from 10 - 30 minutes before my mails enters the
list...

tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$ grep "^GSF_" config.log
GSF_CFLAGS=''
GSF_LIBS=''
tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$

tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$ grep "Native" config.log
  Native libgsf..........: yes
  Native goffice.........: no
tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$

Below is also the latest fail of make. This might be errors in the Ubuntu distro, so if i can get some usefull info to supply to the developers it would be fine, but i'm not experienced enough to decide whats usefull (I dont have a clue about what these outputs mean:-)

A couple more if you will.  What's the output of...

    $ grep -A1 "checking for libgsf-1 >= 1.12.2" config.log
    $ egrep "(LIB)?GSF_" config.log

...?

I'm now at revision 12971. .... and that got me into this:
after autogen &
./configure --enable-error-on-warning --enable-compile-warnings
--enable-debug --enable-HBCI --prefix=/opt/gnucash-1.9

Then make give me this
tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$ make
Makefile:752: *** missing separator.  Stop.
tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$

Did you make sure you didn't get a svn conflict? Check "svn status" --
does it show any "C", i.e. files with conflicts?

tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$ svn status
?      src/gnome-utils/gnc-html-graph-gog.loT
tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$

and the:
tortho@inspiron:~/source$ svn co
https://svn.gnucash.org/repo/gnucash/trunk gnucash
Checked out revision 12971.
tortho@inspiron:~/source$

I'll try a clean install/svn later today.

I'm still on Rev. 12971.

I did a complete clean svn download now, then ./autogen.sh and then a
./configure --enable-error-on-warning --enable-compile-warnings
--enable-debug --enable-HBCI --prefix=/opt/gnucash-1.9

Heres the result when starting make:

tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$ make
Makefile:752: *** missing separator.  Stop.
tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$ svn status
tortho@inspiron:~/source/gnucash$

I havn't checked my log yet, for what packages that has been updated
today (in Ubuntu...) but I cant remember anything special...that was
updated.

(by the way it's a lowercase --enable-hbci; that option wasn't recognized
probably)

Can you please send lin 752 and some surrounding lines from that file? Also
maybe the gzip'd config.log?

Hi...

Um, which line is "line 752"?  Line 752 in my top-level Makefile
is very very different than what you have listed here.  Is this
with a clean checkout from SVN?

Um, this implies that "automake" didn't run properly... Or you have
a broken copy of automake...
