Покотиленко Костик
Hi.

I've recently posted Bug 310102. What is the procedure of fixing it?

All the best.

Re: Bug 310102

Hi,

It's unlikely this will be fixed before the g2 port is finished..  It IS likely
that the g2 port will fix this all by itself.  The procedure of fixing it is to
send in a patch that fixes it, or be patient and wait for someone to get to it.
Just keep in mind that there are bugs that have been open since 2002.

Thanks for explaination.

I would have to become expert in gnucash code to make patch, hehe.
No luck today :).

All the best.

Re: Bug 310102

Your other option is to try the g2 branch and see if it works for you.
If not, then we definitely have work to do.  If it DOES work then you
know you just need to wait for g2.  This shouldn't require becomming
an expert in gnucash code to make a patch; it only requires enough
knowledge to download from CVS and build the g2 branch.

:)

Would it be a sensible thing to do this and prepare a Debian package
in the Debian "experimental" archive?  It might end up getting more
use.  If it's the right stage of development for that, I'm happy to
give it a shot.

(I probably would not be able to do this until August, however.)

I do not believe we're at the right stage of development for that, yet.
Hopefully in a couple months we'll be ready to start the pre-alpha testing of
g2.  Once we do that (releasing a 1.9.0 test-release) you're welcome to start
packaging for testing :)
